Pet Patio Extensions come in two types:

Type 1: Aluminium Snap In Extensions

In this case the extension is a simple snap in aluminium piece that extends the height range of the door by 65mm. These can be assembled together to give a longer height range (up to three can be grouped together).

Type 2: Extension Made from an Aluminium Frame and a Polycarbonate insert

These are a high quality extension that is custom made to fit your door height, and which matches your door exactly. At present these are made to order, and a delivery delay of 3-5 days is likely. These are suitable for door heights requiring an extension larger than 180mm.

Measuring the Right Height Option

Measure the height of your door as shown in the diagram above - the measurement is the inside from the top of the frame to the bottom of the frame. Alternatively if there is a large lip in the bottom track, measure from the top of the lip to the inside top of the frame.

The new doors being delivered by Pig in Mud have an extension range of 1980 mm to 2102 mm, and come with one of the snap-on extensions already installed.

If your measured height is greater than 2102 mm and less than 2220 then you can purchase snap-on extensions. Get enough snap-ons to extend the maximum range 20+ mm more than you need so the spring loaded mechanism will work well.

So if you have a door height that is say, 2140 mm high, then you will need one snap-on extension. If you have a door measurement of say, 2190, then you will need two snap-ons.  You can purchase snap-on extensions by going to the on-line store. 

If you have a door that is greater than 2220mm in height and less than 2380mm then you will need a custom extension and you will need to call Pig in Mud on 1300 78 38 39 for a quote. 

If your door measurement is greater than 2380 and less than 2440, then you can get a Tall Door Option - these are custom doors that are significantly more expensive than the standard door and you should call Pig in Mud for availability.

Door measurement higher than 2440 can also be extended with snap-on extensions.
